Ad filmmaker Jayendra's directorial debut '180' that stars Siddharth, Priya Anand and Nithya Menon in the lead roles is one of the much-awaited movies this season due to many reasons.
This bilingual movie marks Siddharth's comeback to Kollywood after almost seven years.
Balasubramaniem is the cinematographer and Sharreth Vasudevan has composed the music. Umarji Anuradha has written the dialogues and Vanamaali has written the lyrics.
Speaking about the film Director Jayendran says "180 is about a youngster who thinks differently. He always wanted to enjoy each and every moment but he will come across two beautiful ladies who are completely opposite to him. What happens from there forms the rest of the story."
Siddharth, hero of the film, went emotional while describing his bond with the film's director Jayendra, with whom he had association since childhood. He also said that the film is primarily set in Hyderabad although it is being made in Tamil too. I am making entry into Tamil films again with this film, he added. It is a character driven film, Siddharth said.
Speaking about 180 Siddharth says, "Though I have done several urbane romantic films, Jayendra’s unusual way of narration excited me to take up the movie. The film is shot on RED ONE digital camera and the visuals in the movie are on par with international standards. After Oy, it was again 180 which will remain as my favorite album. Sharath has composed the music."
Priya Anand is pinning her hopes on her June-2011 release 180, in which she is paired with Siddharth
Excited, as an epithet, doesn't completely describe Priya Anand's mood at the moment — the petite heroine is absolutely gung-ho about 180, her next release.
"The character I do is so me, an NRI with a desi heart. The movie will change the attitude that girls who live abroad can never speak in their mother tongue and lacks empathy," she reveals.
On her co-stars, Priya says, "Siddarth and Nithya Menon were very co-operative and each one of us had a spectacular role to play. The name of my character is Renu and am hopeful it will strike a chord with audiences."
Priya has dubbed for her roles in both the versions of 180. “And boy! Was I thrilled!” she says.
Nithya Menon, the other heroine of the film, is new to Kollywood and Tollywood, although not new to the industry. She hails from Mollywood and has landmark films to her fame.
"In 180, I play a modern girl who sees life in her own way. It is a youthful story and Jayendra is a great colleague to work with. I enjoyed being part of the film and am looking forward for its release," she says.
Mouli, Geetha, Tanikella Bharani, MS Narayana, Lakshmi Ramakrishnan and Janaki Sabesh will be seen in the other supporting roles in 180.
Earlier, the stage was set for the film to be released in Telugu and Tamil on June 10. However, the change in release dates of 'Badrinath' (starring Allu Arjun and Tamanna) eventually had its domino effect on quite a few other releases including 180.
The latest news from the film's team is that the film willbe released on June 25.
SPI cinemas and Aghal films are jointly presenting this triangular love story.
